Square Cat

Life is rough. Especially when you're Eula, a Square Cat. Eula lives in a round world. She can't get through mouse holes. If she tips over, she's stuck. Even cat fashion is designed for round felines like her friends, Patsy and Maude. When her companions try to help her feel round--with hoop earrings, a beehive hat, and doughnuts--things don't work out the way they hoped. Finally, with a little assistance from her friends who slip on boxes and try stints as square cats, Eula learns the value of being herself.

The book, a 2011 publication, complements the Kindergarten Common Core Standards in geometry and would make a delightful read-aloud at the beginning of the school year as students consider the value in individual differences.
