Summer Workshops with MLC

Looking out my window, summer seems far off...but in actuality, it's just around the corner! Are you ready to start making some plans?

This summer, The Math Learning Center offers many open enrollment workshops. Offerings include a variety of Bridges classes as well as Algebra Through Visual Patterns.

It's going to be a fun summer! Come join us!

Technology Teaching Tools at TESiboard

During development of the new K-5 resource links we've searched through dozens, perhaps hundreds, of websites, looking for the best tech resources available. The TES iboard, "a purpose built library of visual, dynamic, interactive resources," is worth additional exploration.

Website Reorganization

You may have noticed some changes in the website. The "Support for Bridges" section has been reorganized to better meet the needs of Bridges users. When you visit Support for Bridges you'll see a menu on the left with several new features:

Greater Than/Less Than: Whiteboard Tool, Song, & Activities

After seeing some greater than/less than desktop tools for students on Mrs. T's First Grade Class blog, I wanted to create a version for use on the whiteboard. It's very easy to make.

Materials needed:

black posterboard
white posterboard
metal brads
packing tape
magnet(s)

Song: Counting with a Leprechaun

Invite your students to count with a Leprechaun in this YouTube video. This HarryKindergarten song counts by:

  • 1's to 20
  • 2's to 30
  • 5's to 200
  • 10's to 100

What a fun way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!
